As a professional mechanical engineer with nearly two decades of experience in the renowned Oil & Gas industry, I transitioned my passion for watches and fine watchmaking into a new career.

From a young age, I developed a profound admiration and appreciation for watches. I would often visit various shops, captivated by the intricate designs and craftsmanship of each timepiece. This fascination led me to amass a collection of colourful and stylish watches, a testament to my mother’s unwavering support.

Upon graduating from Mechanical Engineering, my mother gifted me my first luxury watch, a Tissot PRC-200, a Michael Owen limited edition. This exquisite timepiece became my cherished companion, cherished for its exceptional quality and timeless elegance. It remains a cherished possession to this day.

Building The Collection

From Tag Heuer to Tudor

As my career progressed, I secured my first job and began saving for my first Tag Heuer Aquaracer. Subsequently, I acquired a Tissot T-Complication Squelette, a remarkable watch that captivated my attention. Over the years, I continued to explore the world of fine watches, eventually purchasing a Tudor Pelagos in blue dial, which I wore and cherished for a full year.

A Milestone Moment

The First Rolex, The First Video

The acquisition of my first Rolex, the Rolex GMT Master-II Green Arrow 116710LN, marked a significant milestone in my journey. It was precisely at this moment that I created my first YouTube video showcasing the watch’s appearance on my wrist. This informative video aimed to provide watch wearability and fit information, a resource that I had been unable to find on my own when faced with the dilemma of choosing between the 40mm Rolex GMT and the 44mm Rolex Deepsea James Cameron 116660.

Since the initial acquisition of my first Rolex and the creation of my YouTube video over a decade ago, my passion for watches has only grown. I have since acquired additional Rolexes and created further videos, expanding my knowledge and sharing it with the watch enthusiast community. Over the past ten years, I have dedicated over 5,000 hours to creating and producing content on YouTube, resulting in the sale of thousands of fine watches across Australia and beyond.

Calibre24 Is Born

From Passion To Full-Time Purpose

In 2021, I made a decision to channel my passion for watches, coupled with my experience in watch selling and trading, into a new venture called Calibre24. This platform allowed me to amplify my watch-related activities and acquire my own inventory, expanding the business’s reach with the potential to eventually pursue watches full-time.

In 2024, I chose to leave my long-standing career in mechanical engineering behind and fully commit to the watch industry.
