Rolex Oyster Perpetual 41 Coral Red Dial 124300, a collectible model, long discontinued and no longer produced, and a very rare example to come by on the market.

The Coral Red in OP41 was produced only for a short run of two years from 2020 until 2022 — being one of the shortest production runs from Rolex for any watch model in the entirety of history. As it was also discontinued 4 years ago, the Coral Red OP41 are rare to come by and seen on the market.

THE CORAL RED

When Rolex launched the updated 134300 at Watches & Wonders 2025, it refreshed the Oyster Perpetual 41 with new matte lacquer dials in pistachio, beige, and lavender — and quietly deleted several of the 2020 launch colours, including the turquoise blue, and yellow. The 134300 does not offer coral red in any configuration. The reference change from 124300 to 134300 made these discontinued colours permanent casualties — the high-gloss lacquers that defined the original launch are gone, replaced by finer-grain matte finishes in entirely different colour territory.

The coral red was always the most polarising of the 124300 launch dials — more chromatic than the 6turquoise, more warm than the yellow, and the one that most divided opinion at first sight. Secondary market premiums for the coral red reached extremely high mid-2025, more than three times the original retail price — a reflection of a dial that generates strong reactions and is now permanently off the production list.

Discontinued colours like the coral red command premiums of two to three times retail, and the combination of discontinued status, mint unpolished condition, and original white hang tag makes this example among the most complete coral red listings in the Australian market.

Mint and unpolished — what this means on a lacquer dial

For a discontinued reference where no new examples can be sourced, condition is the primary differentiator between listings on the secondary market. An unpolished, mint, lacquer-dial 124300 coral red is not the same watch as one that has been worn and cleaned. The two represent different ends of the available range.

The white serial hang tag — and why it matters

The white serial hang tag is the serialised card attached to the watch at point of original purchase. It is usually the first item removed when a watch is unboxed and worn, and on the secondary market it is the most consistently absent set component across most Rolex references. Its presence on any pre-owned Rolex signals authenticity, factory configuration, and an exceptional care from first owner; on a discontinued reference it functions as provenance documentation.

On this coral red — a reference that no longer exists in current production — the hang tag is more than a collector’s detail. It is a record of an uncompromised first chain of ownership for a colour that Rolex will not make again.

FAQs

Is this Rolex Oyster Perpetual 41 coral red available in Australia? Yes. Viewings by appointment in Perth.

Why was the Rolex Oyster Perpetual 41 coral red discontinued? Rolex introduced the updated reference 134300 at Watches & Wonders 2025, replacing the 124300 with a new matte lacquer dial palette — pistachio, beige, and lavender — and discontinued several of the original 2020 launch colours including the coral red, turquoise blue, and yellow. The 134300 does not offer coral red in any form. The colour is no longer in production and will not return. For buyers who want a coral red Oyster Perpetual 41, the secondary market is the only source.

What is the difference between the Rolex 124300 and 134300? The 134300, introduced in 2025, brought updated matte lacquer dials in new colours, slimmer and more contoured lugs, a larger Twinlock crown, and a refined Oysterclasp The Calibre 3230 movement carries over unchanged. The high-gloss lacquers of the 124300 — including coral red, turquoise blue, and yellow — were replaced by finer-grain matte finishes in entirely different colours. The coral red is a 124300-only dial and does not exist in the 134300 range.

What makes the coral red 124300 more valuable than other dial colours? Among the discontinued 124300 colours, coral red commands secondary market premiums of two to three times retail price. The colour’s value is driven by three factors: the bold lacquer finish that was only possible in the 124300 generation; the direct discontinuation of the colour at Watches & Wonders 2025 with no replacement; and the watch’s strong aesthetic reaction — the coral red generates more immediate responses than any other 124300 dial variant. A mint, unpolished example with the original white hang tag represents the finest form of a colour that cannot be replenished.

What is the white hang tag and why is it rare on a pre-owned Rolex? The white serial hang tag is a serialised card attached to each Rolex at the point of original purchase, carrying the reference and serial number. It is the first item removed when a watch is unboxed for use, and on the secondary market it is absent from the majority of pre-owned listings regardless of condition or set completeness. Its presence confirms the watch has been stored with exceptional care since purchase and that the chain of ownership is unbroken. On a discontinued reference like the coral red 124300 — where no new examples can be sourced — the hang tag documents provenance that cannot be reconstructed after the fact.

What does “mint and unpolished” mean on a Rolex Oyster Perpetual 41? Mint condition means no meaningful wear to case, dial, crystal, or bracelet. Unpolished means the factory-original case finishing — the precise division between brushed and polished surfaces applied at the Rolex manufacture — is intact. Polishing a Rolex case, even lightly, removes the crispness of that line and leaves a uniformly softened finish that is visible at close range. An unpolished mint example retains the exact surfaces as produced, which is the benchmark condition for any pre-owned Rolex and particularly significant on a discontinued reference where it cannot be replaced.

Does this Rolex Oyster Perpetual 41 coral red come with box and papers? Yes — complete full set with original inner box, outer box, Rolex green warranty card, manuals, booklets, and the original white serial hang tag.

Can I sell or trade in my Rolex? Yes. Calibre24 buys and takes consignment on Rolex and other high-end references. Contact us for a current valuation.
