The Rolex Submariner Date 41 Starbucks — black dial, green bezel, current generation
The collector nickname tells the story: the Rolex Starbucks earned its name from the combination of a black dial and a green Cerachrom bezel, a colour pairing that reminded collectors of the coffee chain’s logo when the 126610LV launched in 2020. The name stuck. It is now the dominant search term for this reference.
The 126610LV sits at the intersection of two lineages. It launched in August 2020 as the successor to the discontinued Hulk, returning a green Submariner Date to the catalogue but switching from the Hulk’s all-green dial-and-bezel configuration to a more versatile black dial with a green Cerachrom bezel. The black dial makes the 126610LV a more practical daily wear than the Hulk — green bezel presence, conventional legibility — and it connects directly to the original 2003 Kermit (16610LV), which was also a black dial and green bezel watch.
The 2026 example in this listing is the MK2 bezel generation. In 2023, Rolex shifted the Starbucks bezel to a slightly warmer shade of green — less cool and blue-tinted than the original MK1, more vibrant in natural light. A 2026 production example is unambiguously MK2, the current and ongoing production specification. This is the more recent, currently produced version.
The 126610LV introduced the 41mm case across the entire Submariner line in 2020, up from the predecessor’s 40mm. More significant than the 1mm increase was the accompanying lug redesign: Rolex slimmed the once-bulky Maxi Case lugs considerably, achieving a more balanced and proportional profile that wears closer to the older 40mm watches on the wrist despite the larger nominal diameter. The lug width also increased to 21mm. The result is a 41mm watch that does not wear like a 41mm watch — a detail worth noting for buyers coming from a 40mm reference.
Brand new, with some factory stickers present. Never worn. The watch is in production-fresh condition. Full set complete and intact.
The Calibre 3235 is Rolex’s current Submariner Date movement, shared with the Sea-Dweller, Yacht-Master, and Datejust. It delivers 70 hours of power reserve — up from 48 hours in the predecessor 3135 — via a redesigned barrel architecture and the Chronergy escapement. The Chronergy escapement provides a 15% gain in energy efficiency through its nickel-phosphorus construction and optimised tooth geometry, and is responsible for a significant portion of the increased power reserve. The blue Parachrom hairspring resists magnetic fields and temperature variation. Superlative Chronometer certified to ±2 seconds per day.

What is the Rolex Starbucks? The Rolex Starbucks is the collector nickname for the Rolex Submariner Date reference 126610LV — the green ceramic bezel, black dial Submariner Date introduced in 2020. The name comes from the combination of the green bezel against the black dial, said to resemble the Starbucks logo. It is the current-production green Submariner Date and the successor to the discontinued Hulk. Rolex itself has never used the Starbucks name officially; the reference number is 126610LV (LV = Lunette Verte, French for green bezel).
What is the difference between the Rolex Kermit, Hulk, and Starbucks? All three are green Rolex Submariner Dates but represent three different generations and configurations. The Kermit (ref. 16610LV, 2003–2010) was the original green bezel Submariner, with a black dial and a black aluminium bezel insert — the first to carry the LV designation. The Hulk (ref. 116610LV, 2010–2020) used the Super Case with a full green dial and green ceramic bezel insert — an all-green watch, the loudest of the three. The Starbucks (ref. 126610LV, 2020–present) returned to a black dial with only the green Cerachrom bezel for colour — closer in spirit to the original Kermit but with the modern 41mm case, Calibre 3235 movement, and 70-hour power reserve. The Starbucks is the only one currently in production.
What is the MK1 vs MK2 bezel on the Rolex Starbucks 126610LV? When the 126610LV launched in 2020, the green Cerachrom bezel had a cooler, slightly blue-tinted green tone — this is the MK1 bezel. In 2023, Rolex shifted to a warmer, more vibrant green — the MK2 bezel — which remains in production today. A 2026 example is unambiguously MK2. Some collectors prefer the MK1 for its subtlety; the MK2 is considered truer to a classic green and reads better in photographs. Both use the same green Cerachrom ceramic with platinum-coated graduations.
What is the difference between the Rolex Submariner Date 126610LV and 126610LN? The 126610LV (Starbucks) has a green Cerachrom ceramic bezel. The 126610LN has a black Cerachrom bezel. Both share the identical 41mm Oystersteel case, black lacquer dial, Calibre 3235 movement, 70-hour power reserve, 300m water resistance, and Oyster bracelet. The bezel colour is the only external difference. 126610LV, “LV” in Rolex terminology, “lunette” means bezel, the ring surrounding the watch face, and “verte” means green in French.
What is the Glidelock and Fliplock system on the Submariner bracelet? Glidelock is Rolex’s built-in bracelet extension system on the Oysterlock clasp, allowing 2mm incremental length adjustments without tools across a total range of approximately 20mm. Fliplock is an additional solid extension piece that snaps out from the clasp, adding approximately 26mm for fitting the watch over a wetsuit. Both are standard on the 126610LV Oyster bracelet.
Does this Rolex Submariner Starbucks come with box and papers? Yes — complete full set with original inner box, outer box, Rolex green warranty card, manuals, and booklets. Factory stickers present.
