Rolex Sky-Dweller 326935 — the dark rhodium configuration

The 326935 range offers three dial choices — chocolate brown, sundust, and dark rhodium — and each reads as a fundamentally different watch despite sharing the same Everose gold case. The chocolate dial is warm and cohesive; the sundust is warm and dressy. The dark rhodium is something else entirely.

The dark rhodium dial against the Everose gold case creates a striking cool-warm contrast — the grey lacquered surface providing a sophisticated counterpoint to the warmth of the rose gold surrounding it. Where the chocolate dial plays the Everose gold’s warmth on warmth, the dark rhodium inverts that relationship. The result is a Sky-Dweller that reads as more contemporary and more austere than the other 326935 configurations — appropriate for formal contexts where the chocolate dial might read as too warm, and for buyers who want the Everose gold’s presence without its full warmth.

The dark rhodium dial offers a cooler contrast that highlights the rose gold case beautifully. The Everose gold index markers and hands — luminescent with Chromalight fill — read as warm accents against the grey dial rather than a continuation of the case metal, creating a three-layer visual composition: grey dial, gold markers, gold case.

Protective stickers and mint unpolished condition — critical on Everose gold

Everose is Rolex’s proprietary 18k rose gold alloy, developed to resist fading over time — but it remains gold, and gold is softer than steel. The 326935’s Oyster bracelet, case sides, and bezel are all in Everose gold, and any polishing or cleaning with abrasive materials degrades the precision of the alternating brushed and polished surfaces that define the bracelet and case finishing.

This example has carried protective stickers on the case and bracelet since new. For a watch of this value in this metal, the stickers are not a cosmetic detail: they are the difference between owning the surfaces as Rolex made them and owning an approximation of them.

The watch is mint and entirely unpolished.

The white serial tag

The original white serial tag is intact. It is the serialised card attached at point of original purchase and the first item removed when a watch is unboxed. Its presence on any pre-owned Sky-Dweller confirms the chain of ownership is unbroken from purchase to this listing — and on a watch where the protective stickers are also intact, it is simply additional confirmation of the same provenance story.

The Ring Command setting system

The 326935’s 18k Everose gold fluted bezel is the functional interface through which all complications are set. The Ring Command bezel interacts with the movement when the crown is pulled, allowing the wearer to cycle between setting local time, home time, and the annual calendar date by rotating the bezel, then confirming each with the crown. On a watch with an annual calendar and a dual time zone, combining all complication-setting into a single crown-and-bezel interface eliminates the need for additional pushers or case-back access — a meaningful engineering achievement on a dress-oriented precious metal watch.

Condition

Mint. Unpolished. Protective stickers applied since new. White serial tag present. Full set complete and intact.

Viewings by appointment in Perth.

What is the Rolex Sky-Dweller 326935-0007? The 326935-0007 is the dark rhodium dial configuration of the Rolex Sky-Dweller in 18k Everose gold — a 42mm automatic watch combining a cool grey lacquered dial with an Everose gold case, fluted Ring Command bezel, and full Everose gold Oyster bracelet. It carries the Calibre 9001 with 72-hour power reserve, the Saros annual calendar displayed through 12 apertures around the dial perimeter, and a dual time zone via an off-centre 24-hour disc. The dark rhodium dial is the most visually distinctive of the 326935 dial options, providing a cool-warm contrast against the Everose gold case.

What is the difference between the Rolex Sky-Dweller 326935 and 336935? The 326935 and 336935 are successive generations of the Everose gold Sky-Dweller. The 326935 uses the Calibre 9001, produced from 2012 through 2023. The 336935, introduced in 2023, carries the updated Calibre 9002 with the Chronergy escapement and Paraflex shock absorbers — the same movement generation used in the current steel 126710BLNR and 126610LV. The case size (42mm), Ring Command bezel, Saros annual calendar, and dual time zone function are the same across both generations. The 336935 introduced new dial options including slate and updated finishing. The 326935 dark rhodium on Oyster is available only in the first generation.

What is the difference between the three 326935 dial options? The 326935 was offered in three dial configurations: chocolate brown (warm, sunburst, the most cohesive with the Everose gold), sundust (light caramel, Roman numeral markers, the most ornate), and dark rhodium (cool grey lacquer, index markers). The dark rhodium is the only cool-toned option in the range — its slate-grey surface creates a deliberate contrast against the warm Everose gold case, producing a more contemporary and versatile look than the warm-on-warm chocolate. For buyers who want the Everose gold case but a less traditionally warm dial, the dark rhodium is the configuration.

Why is protective sticker condition particularly important on an Everose gold watch? Everose gold is Rolex’s proprietary 18k rose gold alloy — softer than steel, and therefore more susceptible to surface degradation from polishing or abrasive cleaning. The Oyster bracelet and case of the 326935 feature alternating polished and satin-finished surfaces, precisely applied at the Rolex manufacture. Any buffing, even gentle, removes the sharpness of that line and produces a uniformly softened finish visible at close range. A 326935 with protective stickers applied since new has never had its Everose gold surfaces handled — the factory finishing is intact exactly as produced. This is the highest possible condition standard for this watch and the detail that most differentiates it from other mint-claimed 326935 listings.

What is the Saros annual calendar in the Rolex Sky-Dweller? The Saros is Rolex’s patented annual calendar mechanism, displayed through 12 small apertures arranged around the inner perimeter of the dial. Each aperture corresponds to a month; the current month is highlighted. The date appears at 3 o’clock under a Cyclops lens. The Saros accounts automatically for months of 30 and 31 days, requiring manual correction only once a year, at the end of February. Combined with the dual time zone function, the Sky-Dweller tracks the full travel date-and-time picture without additional complication.

What is the Ring Command bezel on the Rolex Sky-Dweller? Ring Command is Rolex’s patented system linking the bidirectional rotating bezel to the crown for complication setting. Pulling the crown to the first position activates the bezel’s interaction with the movement, allowing the wearer to cycle through setting modes — local time, home time, annual calendar — by rotating the bezel and confirming with the crown. On a precious metal watch with an annual calendar and dual time zone, consolidating all complication setting into one interface without additional pushers is a meaningful design achievement.

What is Calibre 9001 in the Rolex Sky-Dweller 326935? The Calibre 9001 is Rolex’s manufacture automatic movement used across the first-generation Sky-Dweller. It runs at 28,800 vph, delivers 72 hours of power reserve, has 40 jewels, and is certified as a Superlative Chronometer to ±2 seconds per day. It powers the Saros annual calendar, the dual time zone via off-centre 24-hour disc, and the standard time display. The successor 336935 uses the updated Calibre 9002 with the Chronergy escapement; the 9001 is the original Sky-Dweller movement, used for the full 11-year production run of the 326935.
