Rolex Bruce Wayne GMT Master II 126710GRNR

The Rolex Bruce Wayne — the third Dark Knight GMT

Rolex’s black-bezel GMT-Master II lineage has been building quietly for over a decade, and the 126710GRNR is its latest and most characterful chapter.

The “Bruce Wayne” nickname was coined by collectors almost immediately after the 126710GRNR was unveiled at Watches & Wonders 2024 — the grey and black colour scheme evokes the sophistication of Batman’s alter ego rather than the superhero himself: dark, controlled, and expensive. Collectors regard it as the spiritual successor to the Batman (blue/black, 126710BLNR) and the Batgirl (Jubilee variant of the same), representing the next evolution in Rolex’s dark-bezel GMT series.

What makes the Bruce Wayne distinct within that lineage is the bezel and the green accents. The grey and black Cerachrom insert is a genuinely new colour combination for the steel GMT-Master II — the grey half is subtle, particularly on the Oyster bracelet where the steel reads warm in natural light, creating a more monochromatic overall effect than the sharper contrast of the Batman’s blue and black. The green GMT hand and the green “GMT-Master II” dial inscription are a direct callback to the 2007–2019 black-bezel 116710LN — the only previous steel GMT to use green accents — making the 126710GRNR a purposeful continuity with the pre-ceramic era of the model.

The grey and black bezel — a more understated GMT

The black and grey Cerachrom bezel is bidirectional and 24-hour graduated, with recessed numerals and graduation marks coated with platinum via PVD. In direct comparison to the Batman’s blue/black and the Pepsi’s red/blue, the grey and black reads as the most restrained — visually closer to an all-black bezel in low light, and more obviously two-toned only under strong direct lighting. This is not a watch that announces itself from across the room. It wears as a precision tool that reveals its character on closer inspection.

The green GMT hand and the green “GMT-Master II” text provide the only colour departure from the monochromatic theme. They are small details — but on a watch this intentionally restrained, small details carry weight.

New old stock — 2025

This example is brand new and unworn. NOS — never on a wrist, in production-fresh condition. A 2025 example of a reference introduced in 2024 — as fresh as this reference gets on the secondary market. Full set complete and intact.

Calibre 3285 and the GMT function

The Calibre 3285 is Rolex’s current GMT movement, shared across the entire GMT-Master II steel line. It delivers 70 hours of power reserve, uses the Chronergy escapement for a 15% improvement in energy efficiency over the conventional lever escapement, and carries a blue Parachrom hairspring for resistance to magnetic fields and temperature variation. Superlative Chronometer certified to ±2 seconds per day — Rolex’s own in-house standard, applied to the cased watch rather than the bare movement.

The independent green 24-hour GMT hand is adjusted in one-hour increments by pulling the crown to the first position — the running seconds are unaffected. The bidirectional bezel provides the 24-hour reference scale against which the GMT hand reads. Setting a second time zone, or switching between local and home time when travelling, takes seconds.

FAQs

Is this Rolex GMT-Master II Bruce Wayne available in Australia? Yes. This New NOS 2025 Rolex GMT-Master II 126710GRNR “Bruce Wayne” is held in Perth by Calibre24 and ships fully insured across Australia, including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Adelaide. Viewings by appointment in Perth.

What is the Rolex GMT-Master II “Bruce Wayne”? The Bruce Wayne is the collector nickname for the Rolex GMT-Master II reference 126710GRNR, introduced at Watches & Wonders 2024. It features a grey and black two-tone Cerachrom ceramic bezel — a new colour combination for the steel GMT-Master II — a black lacquer dial, and green-lacquered 24-hour GMT hand with green “GMT-Master II” inscription. The grey/black colour scheme and the understated sophistication of the watch earned the nickname immediately: dark, controlled, and expensive, like Bruce Wayne rather than Batman. It is powered by the in-house Calibre 3285 with 70-hour power reserve and is Superlative Chronometer certified to ±2 seconds per day.

What is the difference between the Rolex Batman, Batgirl, and Bruce Wayne? All three are collector nicknames for black-bezel steel GMT-Master II references, distinguished by bezel colour and bracelet. The Batman (ref. 126710BLNR, Oyster bracelet) has a black and blue Cerachrom bezel. The Batgirl (ref. 126710BLNR, Jubilee bracelet) is the same reference on a five-link Jubilee. The Bruce Wayne (ref. 126710GRNR) has a grey and black Cerachrom bezel with green GMT hand accents — a newer and more understated combination introduced in 2024. All three share the same 40mm Oystersteel case, Calibre 3285 movement, 70-hour power reserve, and 100m water resistance. The Bruce Wayne is the most recently introduced and the most restrained of the three.

Why is it called the Rolex Bruce Wayne? The nickname was coined by collectors after the 126710GRNR’s debut at Watches & Wonders 2024. The grey and black colour scheme was considered too sophisticated and understated to earn the superhero Batman nickname — it reads more like the alter ego than the costume. The green accents (GMT hand and dial inscription) add a detail that fits within the “Dark Knight” collector naming convention without the blue of the Batman. The name has since become the dominant search term for this reference.

What is the green GMT hand on the Rolex 126710GRNR? The green-lacquered 24-hour GMT hand and the green “GMT-Master II” dial inscription are distinctive features of the 126710GRNR not found on the Batman (126710BLNR). Green on the GMT hand and dial text is a callback to the previous-generation black-bezel GMT-Master II, the reference 116710LN produced from 2007 to 2019, which also featured green accents on an otherwise monochromatic watch. The Bruce Wayne revives this detail in the current-generation case with Cerachrom ceramic bezel.

What is the difference between the Rolex GMT-Master II 126710GRNR on Oyster vs Jubilee bracelet? The 126710GRNR is available on both the Oyster and Jubilee bracelets, and both carry the same reference number. The Oyster is a three-link brushed and polished bracelet with a more sporting, tool-watch aesthetic — the bracelet that connects to the original Batman lineage. The Jubilee is a five-link bracelet that reads as more refined and slightly dressier. Both use the same Oysterlock clasp with Easylink. This listing is the Oyster bracelet version.

What does NOS mean for this Rolex GMT-Master II? NOS stands for New Old Stock — the watch was produced and left the Rolex manufacture in brand new condition dated before the current year, but has not been worn or used. NOS is a distinct and higher condition than “excellent” or “mint”, which are both the conditions for used watches — NOS is unused but may have light marks of handling from storage.

Does this Rolex GMT-Master II Bruce Wayne come with box and papers? Yes — complete full set with original inner and outer boxes, Rolex green warranty card, manuals, and booklets. 2025 warranty card.

Can I sell or trade in my Rolex? Yes. Calibre24 buys and takes consignment on Rolex and other high-end references. Contact us for a current valuation.
